Player registration deferred to July 20

Just got word from USTA Norcal that the 18+ Season has been postponed again. Here's what they said:

We regret to inform you that USTA NorCal has postponed all player registration until Monday, July 20th. Due to the varying county restrictions and state guidelines around COVID-19, we have learned that many facilities are still closed or they have restrictions against doubles, league play and allowing guests during this time. We appreciate the enthusiasm we have received from players eager to get back on the court and we cannot wait to be able to provide a positive and safe experience for all those who wish to participate!

As to Sonoma Napa Marin Women's League they are proceeding as if play will resume in September.  We have three teams ready for go (Division 1, 3, and 5) so fingers crossed that can happen.  Our next deadline is getting rosters finalized by July 15.  Also, everyone participating in SNM will have to sign a waiver but we'll send that information out separately to those of you to whom it applies.

We'll just have to wait and see when it comes to USTA. They have a challenge on their hands because of all the different restrictions imposed by states and counties and cities all over the country.

In the meantime, the tennis courts are getting busy again!  Singles and Doubles are permitted.  Keep your mask handy and use hand sanitizer between change-overs.  I put out a pump dispenser of sanitizer for my group today to encourage us all to sanitize often. Also, be sure to keep 6' apart when you aren't playing.  It's easy to let up on the safe behaviors but now is not the time  to relax - especially if we want to keep everyone healthy and the courts available.
