Petaluma Tennis Association (PTA) is a grass roots not-for-profit organization comprised of tennis enthusiasts with a goal to make the sport of tennis affordable and accessible to all persons residing in the Petaluma Community and the Greater North Bay.
Membership in PTA gives you access to USTA league play and, for ladies, the Sonoma-Napa-Marin Women's League. We also create events for recreational tennis such as round robins, clinics, and open drop-in tennis events, as well as help with tennis court maintenance.
If you would like to register for the 2025 PTA Mixed Tri-Level Tournament that is taking place on September 13 and 14, please go to the page under the EVENTS tab.
You can also find detailed information about the tournament on that page.
The Petaluma Tennis association donated approximately $2600 worth of material and labor to McNear Park tennis courts and installed much needed windscreens on the courts. Thanks, PTA!
Congratulations to our Petaluma Mixed 7.0 team for an outstanding achievement! They secured first place in the Sonoma County USTA league by defeating the Flamingos in a hard-fought match. Our team showed incredible determination and delivered a clean sweep with a 3-0 victory. Next stop: the playoffs!
For those of you who have not heard, our Ladies 3.5 team went to Sectionals and did well..not quite good enough to make it to the quarter-finals, but we won two of our three matches 3-2..a solid performance at that level!
On Friday, our line one (Dana and Tara) and Line two (Elsa and Lucia) both pulled out a win against Fremont, and on Saturday afternoon, Line one (Lucia and Elsa) and line two (Chris and Jennifer) took the win against Tiburon Peninsula Club. Unfortunately, on Saturday morning we lost all 4 lines to the team that won our flight. All in all, It was great tennis, and we are so proud of how well this team performed, on and off the courts. (We were told by the organizers we had the best cheering section at the event).
Check out more pictures of the weekend on our Facebook & Instagram pages.
PTA is looking to expand tennis programs and opportunities for our Petaluma Tennis Community. To assist us in developing our new programming, we have put together a short survey that will provide us with important information on your tennis interests and needs. Follow the link below to complete the survey, which should take no more than a few minutes. Please share this communication with your playing network as this is sent to PTA members only. We would like to reach as many players as possible.
The 2024 PTA Men’s 40+ 3.5 team completed its regular season in first place, besting Wikiup and Fountaingrove to earn the title. USTA used a points system for this season instead of the more common won-loss record. The 17-member team finished with 28 total points and a four-point lead over runner-up Wikiup. Wikiup declined to have a playoff match and the team is on to the Sectionals in Elk Grove in June.
Congrats to the Petaluma Women's USTA 40+ 3.5 team for dominating the regular season and finishing far ahead in first place! The ladies will be hosting the first round of playoffs on the weekend of April 13-14 at Leghorns Park against the Ragle Ranch team. Once we know the exact date and time, we will pass it on to everyone, and hope that you can come out and support our team!
